Gmail and other important Google services are currently down for many users all over the world, according to reports on Downdetector.

Downdetector, a site that monitors various services, is showing that Gmail and other Google services (YouTube, Google Docs and Google Drive) are currently down for thousands of users all over the world.

When users try to access Gmail or other Google services, including Google Drive and Google Docs, they see a “Temporary Error” message stating that the account is temporarily unavailable. The outage is especially prevalent in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Poland, Spain and Germany. Countries like the US, India and Japan are also affected. It appears that most users encounter the issue when trying to log in to their Google accounts.

“We’re sorry, but your account is temporarily unavailable. We apologise for the inconvenience and suggest trying again in a few minutes,” the error message says when users try to access Google services.

There is currently no official statement by Google, and the cause of the outage is not yet known. However, what we do know is that essential services like Gmail, Google Docs and Google Drive going down at a time where millions of users are working from home because of the COVID-19 pandemic is bound to cause a lot of issues.
