Vulnerable computer systems and applications:
Rovnix is a malicious software code, also known as a Trojan. The trojan was created to steal financial data, mainly credit card numbers. It can get into your computer in the following ways:
- MS Office documents with malicious macros;
- Installed by other malware.
The way Rovnix is designed makes it difficult for the operating system or anti-virus software to detect its presence. Once it’s inside the computer, it installs drivers that are configured to launch the malware every time the system is restarted.
- Do not open unsolicited, suspicious emails and their file attachments;
- Scan MS office documents you receive with anti-virus software.
