HTML/Crypted.Gen

Description:

HTML/Crypted.Gen is a malicious JavaScript or VisualBasic code. Attackers use this code to encrypt malicious files in order to escape notice by anti-virus programs. Anti-virus programs detect the malicious code but cannot identify the threat, so they use HTML/Crypted.Gen to detect the encryption code.

Recommendations:

  • Install or update used device protection systems;
  • Scan your computer with an anti-virus program;
  • Install operating system and application updates;
  • Do not click on suspicious links in emails and websites;
  • Disable unused plugins, which may be particularly vulnerable.
