Description:
Virut is one of the biggest malicious botnet networks, operating since 2006. Devices are added to the botnet by the Win32/Virut malware, which spreads via unsafe websites and infected storage devices.
The botnet uses infected computers to spread malware in the network, most common of which is Waledac. The malware adds the device to another botnet, which is used to send spam.
Recommendations:
- Install or update used device protection systems;
- Scan your computer with an anti-virus program;
- Install operating system and application updates;
- Do not click on suspicious links in emails and websites.
